About the Position: The Southwest Civilian Personnel Record's Center (CivPRC - KS) is located on the Main Post of Fort Riley, Kansas or Rock Island, Illinois.
This position may be filled as a remote position or may be located at either Civilian Personnel Records Center (CivPRC) - Rock Island, Illinois or Fort Riley, Kansas.
May allow for situational/ad hoc telework.
NOTE: Position(s) can be filled at any grade level, GS05, GS06, or GS07. Full performance is at the GS07 grade level.
Duties
Processes a full range of recurring personnel actions that include a variety of appointments, separations, promotions, changes to lower grade, reassignments, transfers, or mass change actions, or any other actions.
Codes and inputs personnel data into an automated system.
Works with Civilian Personnel Advisory Center to correct errors identified during processing.
Participates in monthly/periodic audit of personnel actions, data entry or processing operations.
Participates in analyzing in-coming work and conducts pre-processing review.
At the full performance level, works complicated or controversial personnel actions, such as researching error messages that prevent others from processing actions or processing settlement agreements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifications for the GS-05 grade level:
Specialized Experience: Performing a range of clerical assignments and resolving associated problems; AND Performing office automation by reviewing documents for accuracy. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four (4) years of education above the high school level. To be creditable, the education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
Qualifications for the GS-06 grade level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Performing a range of clerical assignments and resolving associated problems; Performing office automation by reviewing Federal civilian personnel documents for accuracy; AND Performing problem resolution (e.g., interpreting job aids and workarounds) associated with processing Federal civilian personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Qualifications for the GS-07 grade level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Analyzing in-coming work and conducting pre-processing reviews on Federal civilian personnel actions; Performing problem resolution (e.g., researching error messages, interpreting job aids and workarounds) associated with processing Federal civilian personnel actions; AND participating in periodic audits of federal civilian personnel actions, data entry or processing operation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement:
GS05: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
GS06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
GS07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
