About the Position: This position is located in the Data Flow Branch, Health Information Management Division, Patient Administration Department, and Director for Administration of the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia.

Duties

Coordinate the implementation, monitoring and reporting of an Inpatient Data collection process. Conduct regularly scheduled reviews of progress using quality indicators. Generate all inpatient daily reports for the Inpatient Data System. Evaluate the functions and activities of the division technicians to ensure accreditation standards and criteria are met. Establish and maintains status reports on all inpatients remaining in the facility. Review initial admission documents for accuracy and coordinates with the admission office to resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
