About the Position: Position is for an Administration Support Assistant with duty location US Army Engineer District, Hydraulics and Hydrology Branch, Detroit, MI. Performs routine and nonroutine administrative, clerical, personnel, procurement, budget, and office automation work using knowledge of the organization and the services it provides.
May hire at the GS-05 or the GS-06 with full performance of GS-06
Duties
Utilizes the computer with various types of business software and/or other automated office equipment to provide a variety of products, including narrative and tabular material.
Serves as primary or alternate timekeeper.
Execute Purchase Requests in support of the office.
Monitor and track funding accounts and adjust and necessary.
Performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to facilitate the work of the office.
Type original material from rough draft or clean copy, ensuring the product is in the correct format, and reflects correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and spacing of material and routing.
Prepare charts, spreadsheets, graphs, and other visual displays based on work from rough drafts.

GS-05: Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence for upper-level review; maintaining files of required documentation; monitor labor and fund requests to provide updates; use an automated personnel database to initiate personnel actions; serve as assistant timekeeper; serves as records coordinator. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or University.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 Experience:
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing procedural and administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence; maintaining files/records; gathering narrative and statistical budgetary data; prepare labor and fund requests; use an automated personnel database to initiate personnel actions; maintain office databases and track information; serve as timekeeper and complete weekly labor reports, serves as records coordinator. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
