About the Position: This is a Regional Technical Specialist position serving as a Subject Matter Expert in resolving complex Mitigation issues for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division.

Duties

Resolve complex mitigation issues. Develop regional mitigation procedures, templates and training as appropriate for LRD regulatory personnel. Provide guidance on complex mitigation issues and processes associated with LRD regulatory permit applications, mitigation instruments or prospectuses, or policy issues. Serves as lead permit application reviewer on those permit applications with complex mitigation issues upon request by the district or if assigned by the LRD Regulatory Program Manager. Provide expert technical evaluation of mitigation documents on project-specific permit applications or policy issues. Conduct quality control reviews of complex mitigation documents, mitigation instruments or prospectuses.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing guidance on mitigation issues and processes associated with LRD regulatory permit applications, mitigation instruments or prospectuses, or policy issues; conducting quality control reviews of complex mitigation documents, mitigation instruments; and advising on scientific information on federal laws, regulations and policies governing mitigation. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsDecision MakingEnvironmental DocumentationEnvironmental Law and Regulatory Compliance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
