THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2489000 and is part of the KY G6, National Guard.
Duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) - TITLE 32, GS-2210-11, you will analyze requirements, monitor performance, resolve problems, and develop recovery procedures. Install, configure, and maintain servers and server resources. Install and upgrade operating systems and software packages IAW Army standards. Develop and maintain database of hardware and software configurations. Conduct hardware and software audits and maintain system configurations. Monitor and manage the performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability of installed servers and server resources. Implement security procedures and tools. Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems, and ensure server functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Resolve inquiries and problems concerning access, use, and availability of datacenter technologies. Provide technical assistance and training to users minimizing disruptions of computer operations. Analyze, evaluate, and resolve malfunctions by adjusting equipment configurations, realigning port allocations, and recommending appropriate acquisitions. Document program purposes, methods, assumptions, and conclusions. Lead or participate in on-site surveys and/or review program information to determine status of the function and quality of services. Maintain liaison with counterparts at other commands/installations for troubleshooting assistance and researching products, technologies, and advancements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 36 months experience assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience with analysis and design techniques to develop system software modifications, systems administration policy, and procedures for use across the organization. Experience using software technology and related computer equipment to perform studies and to evaluate system changes.
Must have Security+ Certification.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D. or equivalent

3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
All undergraduate or graduate education must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
To receive credit for education, you must provide OFFICIAL transcripts.
