THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN)-TITLE 5, Position Description Number PDT5240000 and is part of the KY USPFO, National Guard.

Duties

As a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN)-TITLE 5, GS-2210-12, you will serve as project leader responsible for developing, assigning, and coordinating duties and projects for systems administrators. Develop, modify, and test overall system backup and recovery strategies for systems. Serve as the technical expert and focal point for installation, configuration and testing of hardware and software associated with multiple operating systems and computer platforms. Provide technical assistance and analysis to other IT personnel involved in system design, programming, database design, and adapting commercially available software. Determine equipment requirements, communications, and interfaces with other systems. Serve as the senior systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. Analyze, evaluate, and recommend hardware/software changes to computer systems. Develop guidelines, standard operating procedures, bulletins, and flyers concerning the operation/use of C4 systems, services, and activities. Plan and schedule the installation of hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Develop, document, coordinate, update, and validate the state Continuity of Operation Plan procedures for system disaster recovery. Implement operating system releases and maintain the operational status of systems. Develop and analyze local policies regarding system access, network rights, and physical access to systems and equipment. Troubleshoot problems and implement changes on multiple computer platforms. Resolve hardware and software problems and report unresolved problems to the appropriate party. Coordinate with specialists and managers at higher levels to obtain information for interfacing with systems at those levels and to facilitate the acquisition and exchange of information technology. Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Must have Security+ Certification SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-11) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of information technology principles, concepts and methods. Experience with techniques and requirements of assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions, coordinating with others outside the organizational unit, and developing project controls necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
