These position are located in Claremore, OK and Muskogee, OK serves under the Business Office service line. The Enrollment Outreach Specialist oversees outreach activities, education to active duty service members, Veterans, their families and enrolled Veterans treated at the facility and interactions with community partners to aide in educational and operational needs, providing information regarding the VAMC's policies and operations regarding VA healthcare enrollment.

Oversees outreach activities, education to active-duty service members, Veterans, their families, and enrolled Veterans treated at the facility.
Interacts with community partners to aide in educational and operational needs, provides information regarding the EOVAHCS's policies and operations regarding VA healthcare enrollment.
Participates in many outreach and training events within the community and VA system that aim to provide information on services available within the Medical Center and Communitybased Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Monitors progress of outreach efforts by keeping updated information, maintaining accurate files and notes, collecting, and responding to feedback and reporting progress and result of outreach efforts.
Assists in distributing outreach materials including applications, brochures, fact sheets, web content, and other targeted information which highlights medical center services and locations.
Maintains a functional relationship with the Outreach Coordinator, Public Affairs and the Strategic Capital/Revenue Investment Planning Team (SCRIPT) along with facility staff that provides care to service members and Veterans, including staff from Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) /Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Women Veterans, Healthcare for Homeless Veterans, Minority Outreach and Enrollment and Eligibility.
Provides outreach educational services to Veteran Service Offices, universities and colleges and Veteran's groups, such as Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Am Vets, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and American Legion to name a few.
Functions as a liaison for Veterans navigating the VA System and those community providers assisting with their care in the community.
Maintain access to a VA laptop and provide on-site enrollment to Veterans at selected outreach events and may need to attend some evening and weekend events in which a change in tour will take place to meet outreach needs.
Travel to the local CBOC's to provide enrollment services and submit VHIC cards for eligible veterans.
Reviewing of report, records and statistical computations for accuracy and propriety.
Serves as expert benefit advisor to HAS Leadership and supports the management information components of all health eligibility related programs.
Responsible for applying an extensive body of rules and regulations relative to Veterans Eligibility for VA healthcare benefits, assisting families with a Veteran's death, burial and explanation of death benefits.
Responsible for entering demographic, insurance, and income information, into the Vista and Enrollment System.
Provides administrative support and collaborates with inpatient staffing personnel such as Physicians, Physician's Assistants, Nurses, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Dietitians, Social Workers, and other administrative and professional staff throughout AAVAMC area transitioning patients identified as ineligible for VA patient care.
Responsible for managing and tracking Other Than Honorable Discharge adjudications.
Serves as a point of contact for Special Focus: Expanded Access for Emergent Mental Health Services for Former Service members which requires the HBA to assist in determining entitlement of Presumptive eligibility for Psychosis and Other Mental Illness, Tentative eligibility and VA's Humanitarian care authority for Ineligible Former Service members.
Assists the Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator in determining eligibility for Mental Health Services for ineligible veterans with and Other Than Honorable Discharge by submitting VA Form 20-0896 on behalf of the Veteran to the VA Regional Office.
Serves as the POC for all official names changes of patients, gathering legal documentation and signed requests to route up to the PO for approval and implementation.
Involved in an extremely complex blend of computing technology, medical information, communication skills and leadership qualities in a rapidly changing environment.
Knowledge of the priorities, commitments and goals for HAS - Ambulatory Care & Processing Section, as it relates to veteran's health benefits and the Medical Center's operating principles to meet this facility's needs as they relate to annual goals.
Responsible for updating the Date of Death in a Patients File. He/she must request and obtain a Death Certificate and or verification from other government database before entering the DOD into the patient file.
Possess skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, relatives, and hospital staff.

GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Knowledge of the VA missions and functions including programs, policies, and procedures; Possesses the ability to work with a variety of internal and external customers providing exceptional customer service; Provides education materials to the community regarding VA Healthcare services and benefits; Effectively expresses information to multiple audiences through oral and written communications; Possesses computer skills and knowledge of software applications, databases, and automated systems.

Physical Requirements: This is primarily a sedentary position, but the work requires some walking, bending, stooping and carrying of light objects such as manuals, documents, etc. Concentration and sustained performance under prolonged stress is required because of the time factors involved in completion of work assignments within deadlines.
