This Integrative Activities Specialist position is located in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS) within the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE).
Duties
As an Integrative Activities Specialist, you will:
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to GS-9 level in the Federal Service gathering information and identifying and analyzing issues to resolve problems impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. Examples include: experience developing tracking and reporting systems to monitor crosscutting programs; analyzing and evaluating data and preparing and presenting program data to management; conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyze work methods; and communicating detailed procedural information for program support. OR
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR
Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR
A combination of graduate level education beyond the first two years of progressively higher graduate study and appropriate specialized experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to GS-11 level in the Federal Service gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to resolve problems impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. In addition, to the specialized experience noted at the GS-11 level, experience at this level includes: recommending solutions to administrative problems and issues; providing senior-level administrative program support to guide cross-directorate activities; training staff at all levels; providing leadership and expertise in organizing and planning workshops, conferences, and seminars; and arranging for appropriate guest speakers and making presentations.
Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may be substituted for experience as described in "Qualifications" at the GS-11 level. If qualifying based on education, you must submit TRANSCRIPTS (unofficial copies are acceptable) or a DIPLOMA that verifies that the requirement is met.
Education may enhance skills required for this position at the GS-12 level; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at the GS-12 level.
