Duties
As a Security Specialist you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Supports in the development of SCI policy direction to specific operating requirements and supports the development of guidance and instructions for applying SCI security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various degrees or levels of security controls to accomplish the mission.
- Executes DCSA and DoD security policies, practices, procedures and techniques that vary by location or situation in terms of security level, complexity, and local conditions or circumstances.
- Communicates/composes correspondence using established templates/guidelines tailoring content to meet SCI specific situations.
- Exercises sound judgment/logic/discretion in the handling of sensitive personal information.
- Provide detailed analysis of information from a variety of sources and determine the need for additional measures required to resolve security issues.
- Assists SSO/ASSO in the development and implementation of plans and procedures associated with DCSA and DoD SCI security policies, practices, procedures, and techniques that vary by location or situation in terms of security level, complexity, and local conditions or circumstances.

- Incumbent must successfully complete the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 24 months of assuming the position.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that I have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-07) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Demonstrated competencies associated with the application of prevailing DoD and IC guidance governing the administration of a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Program.
Experience conducting or overseeing day-to-day administration of information security, personnel security, physical security functions as they relate to an SCI cleared community and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
