This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD), Office of the Assistant Attorney General, Executive Office (EO), Operations, in Washington, DC. As an IT Specialist at full performance level you will perform duties such as: providing account management, troubleshooting of devices, and a variety of other tasks, performing hardware troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs, makes economical decisions regarding repair vs. replacement, and responding to customer inquiries.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) at (GS-2210-12), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Basic Requirements per OPM
Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies below:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Minimum Qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 pay grade level or pay band within the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector or public sector:
Working with more senior level IT specialists implementing systems updates,
Troubleshooting hardware and software, OR
Resolving customer IT issues.
