This position is located in the Office of the Scientific Director (OSD), Division of Intramural Research (DIR), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Duties
Work closely with intramural scientists and researchers to ensure timely, comprehensive, and accurate updates of information on scientific findings and programmatic accomplishments.
Serve as production manager for many projects and analyze existing nationwide publications (e.g., peer reviewed manuscripts) in terms of purpose, content, format, effectiveness, and necessity.
Provide a full range of editorial support to management and professional staff on materials intended for publication or presentation.
Obtain and coordinate input from multiple sources of information both within and outside of the Division of Intramural Research.
Provide leadership and direction to a team.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: performing writing and editing functions to communicate information on biomedical intramural research programs, findings, issues, and objectives; developing written materials to provide information on complex biomedical research activities and scientific subjects for distribution to various audiences; maintaining awareness of research programs, findings, and objectives through discussion with scientists or staff or review of scientific literature or databases; responding to inquiries from various external sources regarding research programs or issues; and developing strategies and techniques to effectively communicate information on complex research programs and issues.
