Duties

You will develop risk analysis for new and current information systems, network software, or hardware. You will analyze enterprise architecture to identify gaps and areas to improve integration across an enterprise. You will assess the integration of new technology into enterprise architecture to maintain compatibility. You will troubleshoot and perform complex system conflict resolution to isolate and identify problems and develop solutions. You will create agency-wide Computer Network Defense (CND) security program initiatives to respond to enterprise security issues. You will maintain customers’ information technology (IT) equipment (e.g., workstations, printers, peripherals, or similar equipment) for network usability. You will maintain documentation of operational requirements to support the organization's enterprise architecture requirements. You will oversee enterprise architecture functions (e.g., design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, maintenance of electronic equipment) to ensure mission success You will partner with operation centers to work through events that impact network operations (e.g., network outages, cyber-attacks, spillages, unauthorized access, natural disaster). You will brief managers on critical enterprise architecture issues based on analysis of documented systems or enterprises. You will brief senior leaders on changing technology for long-range planning of information technology (IT) systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain the Information Assurance training (IAT) Level II certification within the allotted time period of hiring as required in the DoD 8570.1-M
  • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I am able to review data from multiple sources and determine relevant information to a given situation. I draft, edit and disseminate written reports and status updates that are factual, timely and relatively error free. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I develop and maintain relationships with customers with diverse needs. I provide technical information about products and services. I assess the needs of customers and identify or tailor products and/or services to meet their needs. I resolve non-routine problems, questions, or complaints and direct the most complex problems, questions, or complaints to the appropriate person. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I communicate, explain, or defend ideas or information clearly. I listen to others and recognize potential miscommunications. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I use logic to identify alternatives to solve problems. I identify and solve problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Provide multi-state geographical mission essential services for enterprise level programs, initiative information systems, cybersecurity, and business technology; analyze, install and manage the procurement of information systems equipment including hardware, software, telecommunications and support services; track cybersecurity vulnerabilities across network devices; coordinate and advise on issues and/or persuade a diverse audience on plans of actions. . Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
  • I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
  • I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or
