About the Position: Headquarters, US Army Forces Command Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, NC centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is centrally located between the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains
Duties
Patrols highly sensitive and restricted areas (by vehicle or foot) to ensure highly sensitive, restricted, and classified information and equipment is secured.
Enforce specialized personnel access procedures and detect trespassing violations in order to protect and prevent unauthorized access to highly sensitive, restricted areas.
Protects government equipment and material, guarding access points, protecting personnel in and around the HQ, FORSCOM/USARC AOR from criminal elements, sabotage, attempted espionage, or direct attacks by enemy or terrorist inspired forces.
Serves as first responders and security to intrusion and duress alarms for classified and unclassified areas IAW emergency alarm procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Emergency recall and must be able to work shifts, overtime and weekends, as required.
- Must sign DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified Critical under the Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Program) and pass drug testing.
- Must undergo periodic drug testing on a random basis.
- Must pass the initial Physical Ability Test (PAT) within 90 days of the hiring date and pass the annual PAT test.
- Must pass an initial and periodic medical examination.
- Must complete initial and annual cardio-pulmonary resuscitation recertification and first aid.
- Must be able to obtain and remain certified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) for position suitability.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle license.
- Must wear the Security Guard uniform and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
- Must be able to wear chemical protection equipment.
- Must undergo firearms testing on a semi-annual basis.
- Must meet annual training and recertification requirements.
- Must be able to successfully complete a locally structured security guard training program or have successfully graduated from a U.S. Army Military Police School accredited academy.
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Maintain order, protecting life, writing and reviewing incident reports and responding to emergency situations and security breaches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
