You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Physical Evaluation Board of the Secretary of the Navy Council of Review Boards of SECNAV CORB.

Duties
You will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, controlling, and processing Physical Evaluation Boards (PEB) decisions and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability ratings.
You will be responsible for administrative actions and interpretation of regulations and directives pertaining to retirements, separations, and DES boards for officers and enlisted Sailors and Marines throughout the Department of the Navy.
You will provide advice and assistance on appropriate processing and/or disposition to PEB personnel when difficulties are encountered, and provide interpretation of disability separation and retirement regulations and relating regulatory directives.
You will monitor the status of cases within the PEB to ensure smooth and expeditious handling, generates PEB performance reports, and advises the Supervisor of potential problem areas and/or methods and procedures to improve internal operations.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations;
Experience working in a quality assurance role and familiar with quality assurance processes;
Experience working with strict deadlines and meeting quotas for production;
Experience in verbally communicating with peers and supervisors;
Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
FOR
GS-09:
SUCCESSFUL completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
