About the Position:
Serve as the Processing Section supervisor, responsible for implementing USMEPCOM and DoD policies while processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Services.
Duties
Supervises military and civilian employees assigned to the section, processing applicants for military service.
Plans the work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities.
Coordinates between MEPS leadership, service liaisons, recruiting service counterparts, and USMEPCOM and Sector operations staff to ensure enlistment processing is being performed in accordance with DoD standards, USMEPCOM regulations.
Gathers, compiles, and analyzes statistical data to identify trends, deficiencies, and accomplishments.
Prepares and provides briefings to VIPs, Inter-Service Recruiting Committee partners, applicants, and recruiters.
Initiates, administers, and oversees the station’s Quality Review Program, ensuring accuracy and correctness of projected processing while ensuring that applicant files are within standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work.
- Routinely be required to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
- May be required to perform occasional over night travel as assigned.
- Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes delegating and/or directing the work of others; reviewing the work of others and ensuring deadlines are met; in-processing new employees; screening applicants; questioning applicants to verify information; using automated equipment to collect and transmit information; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness; maintaining records; and data entry.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: One and a half years of graduate level education ((i.e., 27 semester hours)) in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources Management, Administration and Management or in a field directly related to the position being filled. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
