About the Position: Serve as the Senior Policy Analyst for the Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR), Civilian Protection Center of Excellence (CP CoE), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Office Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), G-3/5/7 for the Policy, Doctrine, Force Development Division.
Duties
Interpret complex guidance and anticipates opportunities for the CP CoE to influence important external and internal CHMR policy direction and provides necessary background and analytical products to facilitate actions or mitigate concerns.
Analyze laws, executive orders, and DoD directives, instructions, and decisions to determine the impact on U.S. military CHMR programs and efforts.
Serve as the CP CoE senior subject-matter expert on policy analysis.
Provide policy advice and analysis on DoD CHMR policy development and effectiveness and helps identify needed strategic proposals.
Direct appropriate responses to inquiries concerning U.S. military activities or operations and DoD CHMR efforts, activities, and programs.
Provide timely and informed advice and analysis to the CP CoE senior leadership.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes collaborating with Allies, Partners, and Non-Governmental Organizations; ensuring policies meet both DoD and international regulations; analyzing laws, policies, programs, and current events to provide accurate and correct information on changing situations; evaluating procedures and processes for desired outcomes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
