About the Position: Serve as the Senior Policy Analyst for the Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR), Civilian Protection Center of Excellence (CP CoE), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Office Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), G-3/5/7 for the Policy, Doctrine, Force Development Division.

Duties

Interpret complex guidance and anticipates opportunities for the CP CoE to influence important external and internal CHMR policy direction and provides necessary background and analytical products to facilitate actions or mitigate concerns. Analyze laws, executive orders, and DoD directives, instructions, and decisions to determine the impact on U.S. military CHMR programs and efforts. Serve as the CP CoE senior subject-matter expert on policy analysis. Provide policy advice and analysis on DoD CHMR policy development and effectiveness and helps identify needed strategic proposals. Direct appropriate responses to inquiries concerning U.S. military activities or operations and DoD CHMR efforts, activities, and programs. Provide timely and informed advice and analysis to the CP CoE senior leadership.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
