The Oklahoma City VA HCS, Social Work Service, is currently recruiting for one (1) Social Worker Program Coordinator position in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Incarcerated Veteran Re-Entry (HCRV) Specialist is a Program Coordinator Social Worker who has programmatic responsibilities in clinical and access challenges in correctional, VA, and Non-VA community institutions. The HCRV Specialist will work with the Homeless Program Coordinator to develop and maintain evaluation initiatives and systems, and will have clinical responsibility for providing information, referral, and linkage services to groups of re-entering incarcerated veterans.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Service Responsibilities:
Overall, the HCRV Specialist provides information and post-release referrals for VA and non-VA services to re-entering veterans during the transition from institution to community. The Specialist is expected to establish respectful, effective relationships with veterans, and with the clinical, custodial, and administrative staff from the range of institutions and agencies involved in re-entry to the community from correctional institutions. Program Coordination and Evaluation Responsibilities:
Engages in program planning at the local, state and national level that identifies critical resources for veteran re-entry (e.g., State Department of Veterans Affairs; U.S. Department of Labor veteran Programs (DVOPs; LVERS); community providers; VA CWT< CVVT/TR, Domiciliary, Grant and Per Diem, Vet Centers). Identifies system resource strengths, establishes program criteria and program screening, and educates resource providers on re-entry issues.
Program workload responsibilities:
Captures all clinical services activity as required by Homeless Program including medical charting and completion of appropriate VA NEPEC forms.
When assigned, will teach and mentor staff and students in the specialty area of practice and provide clinical supervision for licensure.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
The knowledge and skills required by the position are clinical and administrative. The position requires:
Knowledge of:
a.) The principles, and techniques of biopsychosocial evaluation, assessments, and
treatment.
b.) social, mental health, and medical screening, and behavioral risk assessment.
c.) human, growth and development, aging, group and individual psychodynamics
d.) psychopathology, psychiatric diagnostic criteria, psychology of criminal behavior
and criminal rehabilitation.
e.) substance abuse treatment, short term clinical case management, crisis intervention,
motivational and cognitive intervention, interdisciplinary consultation, and systems
intervention

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Citizenship. Be a citizen of the United States.
English Language Proficiency. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f).
Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to http://www.cswe.org/Accreditation to verify that the social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a masters of social work.
Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found by going to http://vaww.va.gov/OHRM/T38Hybrid/.
Grandfathering Provision. The following is the standard grandfathering policy for all title 38 hybrid qualification standards. Please carefully review the qualification standard to determine the specific education and/or licensure/certification/registration requirements that apply to this occupation.
GRADE DETERMINATIONS. In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates.
Social Worker (Program Coordinator), GS-12
Experience and Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience.
Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
(a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
(b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
(c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
(d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
(e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Oklahoma Department of Corrections specifically working with DOC staff inside of facilities.
