About the Position: This position serves as senior suitability policy advisor for Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) G-1's Suitability Division. It is located at the Pentagon, Washington DC.
Duties
Reviews and interprets laws and regulations.
Analyzes policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Oversight of Suitability, Fitness and Credentialing of employees.
Conduct evaluations regarding the personnel suitability program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Evaluate work performance of subordinates.
Take necessary disciplinary actions when needed.
Make authoritative decisions regarding personnel suitability regulations.
Implement a personnel suitability program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Must meet job function require Drug Test.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and analyzing policies and procedures; writing policies for implementation; leading or supervising a team; managing a project or program related to, but not limited to, personnel suitability, application of adjudication criteria or background investigations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
