You will serve as a ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Security Battalion of the MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will assist the adjutant in providing administrative support in order to relive the staff of selected reoccurring administrative responsibilities.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed and the capabilities.
You will approve assignments to special projects or work details.
You will identify developmental and training needs and provide/ arrange needed development and training.
You will ensure recommendations for personal awards and decorations received via electronic awards systems.
You will review administrative separation packages submitted for compliance to agency policy and directives.
You will process appellate leave packages.
You will review process and track incoming command correspondence for appropriate action.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Identifying developmental and training needs and providing/arranging needed development and training; 2) Reviewing, processing and tracking incoming command correspondence for appropriate action; 3) Interpreting and applying regulations to provide advice and solve specific problems; and 4) Drafting correspondence on matters such as office procedures and request for information.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
