The Program Specialist - Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) serves as the main ADPAC for the entire Specialty Care Patient Service Line at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The position reports to the Service Line Administrative Officer.

Duties

Major duties include but are not limited to: Functions as the Surgery ICC Adpac to submit requests for employees and trainees to obtain computer menus and access. Provides employees and trainees computer log on codes. Assists employees and trainees logging onto the computer. Supports Surgery ICC staff and trainees with computer software and hardware issues. Completes quarterly mandated EPAS audits. Maintains Access onboarding database. Develops and implements training modules(s) for new and existing employees utilizing various systems. Provides instructions covering a wide variety of topics in well-established areas of a subject matter field. Identifies and determines training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance. Trains and mentors users (clerical, administrative and clinical) in selected programs and software applications Responsible for IT security and confidentially for, but not limited to data network, system . access, accessibility codes. Responsible for the development and implementation of data systems. Develops, selects and/or maintains databases to obtain greater efficiency of computer memory and processes; determines organization of data in the database and assigns names and definitions to the various records and fields. Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated reporting systems affecting programs throughout the service with functions and operations that are extensively interrelated. Performs statistical analysis to identify and distinguish data trends within the Service Line. Compiles and analyzes statistical data and informational material related to patient care issues as identified by the Service Line Leadership and runs reports from various data bases. This position coordinates special studies/projects as delegated by the Service Line Leadership to resolve process problems identified by management. Performs management and/or program support works such as program or office planning, evaluation of administrative programs or issues, training programs and administration. Communicates and coordinates activities between the Surgery Office and other ICC Services. Receives schedules, refers and contacts members ofthe stafl VA and persons outside the agency ranging from other government agencies to the general public. Meets the needs of the customers while supporting VHA missions, consistently communicates and treats all customers in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner. Assumes the role of Trainee Coordinator for the Service Line when needed. Functions as VATAS timekeeper. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Administrative Days Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for Ad-hoc telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/04/2023. Minimum Qualifications: You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes but is not limited to: Understanding of a broad range of patient care activities and of the specific duties and needs of healthcare staff; Utilizing various software systems to compile/collect data; Performing data analysis; Generating reports; Preparing various correspondence; Familiarity with programs and services of a healthcare facility as well as the laws, policies and regulations; Providing customer service and ability to communicate with others (This experience must be well documented in your resume and application).
