This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This position serves as a Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist for the Chief Knowledge Management Officer, Joint Staff. This position resides within the Knowledge Management Division.
Duties
As a Knowledge Management Specialist at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Advising senior leadership in the establishment and operation of specific databases and information management initiatives through the use of KM programs, develops KM strategies, establishes requisite practices, identifies necessary resources, monitors project progress to ensure that goals and objectives are satisfied, and provides senior level KM presentations and demonstrations at CJCS, J33 and other conferences and meetings as directed.
Serving as the KM transformation/change agent for J33 DDCIO.
Monitoring the performance of knowledge management and database programs and projects, evaluates the implementation, stability, and usefulness of these based on applicable industry standards, law, and best practices.
Conducting usability audits and analysis of organization web portals on a continues bases to assess the collaborations effects and report findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 13 grade level in the Federal service:
Developing and accessing an organization's policies and guidance pertaining to all aspects of the Knowledge Management (KM) program to include: Knowledge Management, Data Analytics within the Government or commercial sector;
Leveraging current telecommunications and KM technologies in the dissemination and sharing of knowledge products and services to senior leadership for strategic planning;
Practical application of IT systems and tools, including but not limited to Agile and Rapid Application Development, Web2.0 standards, web development, JavaScript and Dynamic HTML;
Utilizing Knowledge of Management methodologies, and skill in application of information creation, capture, organization, and dissemination systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
