You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the CNRSE FLEET AND FAMILY READINESS (N9) DIVISION of COMNAVREG SE JAX.
Duties
You will determine specific project requirements with customers to develop the necessary engineering drawings for project implementation.
You will develop or modify process instructions to ensure compliance with technical and safety requirements.
You will prepare technical documentation (e.g., design sketches, layouts, detail drawings, engineering reports, test reports) to maintain program area needs and requirements are addressed.
You will attend pre-construction conferences to discuss and clarify principle design and construction features and technical requirements.
You will collaborate with customers and contractors to prepare job plans or contract work statements to ensure that the scope of work is mutually understood.
You will advise management in the resolution of problems detected within engineering or technical support service programs.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Using knowledge of civil/structural/architectural engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to design, layout and construction facilities structures such as living quarters, Barracks, warehouses, and office spaces; 2) Reading and providing guidance on project development based on established regulations, codes, standards, and schedules to align with program priorities; 3) Developing partnerships with Installation Public Works and Installation Housing Program Directors to identify future projects and developments; 4) Reviewing and writing scope of works to ensure program priorities are aligned with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC); 5) Developing and preparing written reports for future projects to support the program to include out-year planning for housing program needs; 6) Acting as Liaison when attending meetings, Facility Design Charrettes, Functional Analytical Concept Designs and Design Build Projects that can affect the requirements of the housing program. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work may require some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven, rocky, or slippery surfaces, may require climbing on ladders or stairs and visits to construction sites of ongoing projects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed both in an office setting with adequate light and ventilation and at on-site projects. When required to visit project sites there may be exposure to dust, strong odors, or fume fuels by engine exhaust of machinery; sites with high levels of noise and vibration; sites with outdoor conditions with potential exposure to rain, cold and hot weather. Work environment requires the employee to remain alert continually and take the appropriate safety precautions including wearing special protective items.
