You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FST DEPT, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will develop technical engineering documents (e.g., proposals, task statements) for weapons systems development. You will advise management in the resolution of problems detected within electronics engineering or technical support service programs. You will establish design approach to install avionic and electrical systems. You will evaluate adequacy of test equipment to repair, calibrate, or test electronic components.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing technical engineering proposals and available technical date to advise on feasibility of proposals. 2) Preparing or reviewing assigned portions of detailed engineering specifications for procurement package documents. 3) Conducting technical reviews of contractor engineering work for redesign, design modification, and complete overhaul of production systems. 4) Designing and prototyping TPS hardware and software. 5) Interfacing with contractors and organic manufacturers to enable production and independently resolve manufacturing issues.
