Employee will serve as a Transportation Assistant assigned to Fiscal Service at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position will provide and coordinate tuition, registration fees and make travel arrangements for employees of this medical center.
Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Maintains and manages system administration of the web-based employee travel package, to include: establish employee in system, build approval chains, complete on-line airline bookings, assist with use of travel software, etc.
Conducts training to educate travelers, alternate preparers, and approving officials on the travel software
Works with travelers to make airline, hotel, rental car, and local transportation arrangements
Serves as travel and education coordinator, follow up with travelers to ensure vouchers are filed timely and to manage fund control points associated with travel
Serves as alternate Agent Cashier
Manages the travel card program
Performs other duties as necessary
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm; Compressed/Alternate work schedule may be available - to be discussed during interview.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level, applicants must meet the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes working with facility employee travelers to make airline, hotel, rental car, and transportation arrangements; training employees on how to use an online travel program/software application; and assuring travel vouchers are filed timely for reimbursement purposes. (Resume must clearly support responses to the online questionnaire to receive credit.)

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, but requires some walking, standing, travel between divisions, carrying of light objects, and occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
