About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.

Duties

Develop, coordinate, and promote the Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) wide safety program. Discuss current and long-range plans, primary areas of emphasis, and training needs with appropriate staff of assigned organizations. Advise management officials on the status of the safety and occupational health programs and recommends changes to meet new safety and occupational health standards. Provide guidance, assistance, and instructions to subordinates for technical work related to matters and administrative matters. Interview candidates for vacant positions and recommends selections/promotions/reassignments.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Position requires the ability to drive on the installation. Installation driving privileges are automatically granted unless suspended or revoked.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
  • Civilian personnel of the Dept. of Defense are not exempt from this provision. Therefore, as a condition of employment, selectee will be required to sign a form acknowledging understanding of this provision.

Qualifications

If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position. This position is under the Acquisition Demonstration Project. The NH-03 broadband incorporates former GS-12 step 1 through GS-13 step 10 grade levels and salary levels. Crane Army Ammunition ActivityutilizesSupervisory Cash Differential as a tool to incentivize and compensate supervisors based on organizational level and scope, difficulty, and value of the position. Once all eligibility requirements and conditions are met, you may receive a Supervisory Cash Differential NTE 10% of your basic pay (basis pay defined as pay without the locality rate) IAW the organization's Business Rules. The Differential is paid on a pay period basis with a specified not to exceed date of one year or less, is reviewed every year, and may be terminated or reduced as dictated by fiscal limitations or changes in assignment or scope of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
