You will serve as an INVESTIGATOR in the Hotlines Investigation, Intake, Case Management and Congressional Inquiries Branch (IG61), Hotline, Military Whistleblower Reprisal (MWBR) Investigations and Congressional Inquiries Division (IG60) of OFFNAVINSGEN WASHINGTON DC.
Duties
You will serve as a developmental investigator, conducting intake, case management and electronic case management duties in accordance with the DoD Hotline Program, to identify fraud, waste, mismanagement, and related improprieties.
You will ensure hotline contacts and complaints are accurately assisted, inputted, and referred/transferred to the responsible Command or investigator for examination and resolution.
You will monitor the Naval Inspector General Hotline, receiving allegations made through the hotline phone and website.
You will assist complainants to resolve issues or refer them, refer congressional inquiries and complaint allegations (Senior Officials, MWBR, Hotline) for processing, and coordinate with appropriate team members and authorities.
You will identify issues, allegations, and standards, research and analyze laws, rules, regulations, and statutes for applicability to alleged wrongdoing and apply the standards to the facts.
You will conduct intake/clarification interviews, open new cases in IG case management system; ensuring required documentation is uploaded, accurate, timely, complete and Investigative Officer is assigned.
You will oversee the operation of administrative investigations assigned to subordinate Echelon Commands into suspected violations of laws and regulations related to fraud, waste, mismanagement, and other improprieties.
You will prepare Office Needs Requests (ONR) for office supplies and transcription.
Requirements

- Must successfully complete NAVINSGEN investigator certification.
Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Reviewing and analyzing complaints of fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement to determine possible violation of military, federal law, or regulation;
Assisting with investigations, credibility determinations, interviews and interrogatories of witnesses and subjects of investigation; and
Preparing reports of investigation that provide detailed and clear analysis and present persuasive conclusions.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying knowledge of Federal laws, rules of evidence regulations and policy, investigative principles, techniques, methods and procedures to assist with administrative investigations;
Using methods of data collection to analyze and respond to requests for information; and
Tracking and reviewing reports of investigation, congressional inquiries, tasking letters, complainant letters to report to higher level officials.
