About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Eisenhower, GA.

Duties

Incumbent leads a group of Training Instructors and military personnel assigned to the division/branch/course. Provides advice on work methods, practices, and procedures; selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques; and identification of viable solutions. Conducts inspections of secure and non-secure equipment, facilities, and training areas. Resolves problems with source materials, subject matter, and/or students. Participates substantially in original course development or course modification. Prepares training materials and lesson plans to reflect new developments in the operational force/field and to relate to students with complicated, specialized, or persistent learning difficulties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • May be required to serve as a Billing Official (BO).
  • Able to obtain and maintain Instructor training certification, Common Faculty Development per TRADOC regulation 350-70 within 6 months of employment.
  • Per TRADOC Regulation 370-70, personnel who are assigned to a faculty position will re-certify every five years.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by possessing the knowledge and experience to perform or lead others in the performance of training instructing responsibility within a training branch for the direct delivery of instruction supporting Army-wide training requirements for proponent Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) producing, Additional Skill Identifier (ASI), functional, and Tri-Service courses; possessing the knowledge and experience to conduct classroom, laboratory, and field instructions for apprentice/student level courses or courses in advanced technical systems within the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), Advanced Individual Training (AIT) school/college and/or NCO Professional Military Education (PME); possessing the knowledge and experience to prepare training materials and lesson plans to reflect new developments in the operational force/field and to relate to students with complicated, specialized, or persistent learning difficulties; possessing the knowledge and experience to input and manage personnel files in the Digital Training Management System (DTMS), a Training Scheduling Systems, and the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) for resident and staff and faculty students. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
