This position serves as an Information Technology (IT) Program Manager for the infrastructure services solution area located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD), Executive Office, Information Technology Management (ITM) Staff, Engineering & Operations Team in Washington, DC.

The primary purpose of this position is to strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that provide secure, redundant, and stable infrastructure services in support of IT operations to enhance the capabilities of NSD in performing the mission. As a IT Program Manager you will perform the following duties: Provides guidance on reviewing final network installation and system plans for additional security risks not identified during proposal stages and recommends work process changes and general design and programming techniques to alleviate potential security problems. Prepares and presents briefings in senior management officials on complex/controversial issues. Reviews general business and functional requirements that support the need for operating systems. Managing contractors assigned to projects fully execute their responsibilities and align with the requirements of their contract. Manage the full project lifecycle using Agile, Incremental and Waterfall methodologies.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of IT Program Manager at (GS-2210-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Minimum Qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 pay grade level or pay band within the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector or public sector: Managing multiple projects while utilizing Information Technology (IT) frameworks and methods; providing service and troubleshooting networks in a secure environment; OR working with and leading a team in building virtual networks and system infrastructure.
