The incumbent serves as a Section Manager within the Technical Operations Training Division of the FAA Academy. The incumbent has authority for administrative and technical direction of the assigned staff. Assigns tasks and monitors employee and organizational performance.

Duties

Directs and supervises staff with regard to acquisition, design, and acceptance of highly complex FAA-wide training systems. Manages agency-wide training programs or program segments associated with the overall support of all training, development, implementation, and maintenance of the National Airspace System (NAS). Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, an advanced knowledge of budget, human resource, other administrative policies and procedures, and an advanced understanding of the objectives of the organization.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience includes: demonstration of extensive knowledge of and experience in the technology, system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
