About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL), located in Alexandria, VA.

Duties

Provides administrative management services for the department, including document control and management, travel, and procurement support, as well as facility use and scheduling. Assist in planning, administering, and monitoring resource requirements. Performs a wide variety of financial transactions vital to the operation of the organizational mission in automated financial management systems such as the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS). Prepares purchase requests and commitments. Serve as a government credit card holder. Completes Quarterly Unliquidated Obligation Review. Assists with processing of outgoing government orders. Assists Budget Analysts with data calls and daily work.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes (which includes 1) The ability to Analyze problems to identify significant factors, 2) Gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions, plan and organize work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120.
