The primary purpose of this position, Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader, WL-2610-13, is to lead three or more workers while they install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild integrated electronic systems.
Duties
Lead a team of three or more workers while the team installs, modifies overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots repairs, rebuilds, aligns, and calibrates complex integrated electronics systems.
Lead at least three or more workers as they perform diagnostic testing of software and hardware functions as an aid in troubleshooting integrated systems and subsystem components determining system integrity.
Lead three or more workers as they use and maintain, precision measurement tools, test equipment and hand and power tools, such as 0-scopes, pulse generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers digital/analog multimeters, gas leak detectors, resistivity meter, electronic control test set, circuitry test set, ESD meter, micrometers, soldering irons, and other trade tools and equipment.
Lead work crews as they utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Lead work crews in the installation, modification, testing, repair and maintenance of transformers, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and integrated electronic systems and other circuit elements found in substations, power plants, and comparable portable power generation units.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee frequently performs moderately heavy lifting, pulling, and carrying of equipment and material up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds) and occasionally, lifts or pulls heavy cables and equipment weighing more than 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Work requires bending, stooping, climbing and standing for long periods. At times works in awkward positions and restricted spaces where coordination of hands, legs, and body are needed to perform tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee works indoors and outdoors. Exposed to heat, noise and vibration in power plants, and to extremes of weather when outside. Working conditions in power plants frequently include wet slippery surfaces, poor illumination, unpleasant odors, gases, fumes, and exposure to oils, lubricants, and chemical cleaning agents. The employee is subject to burns, chemical irritations, shocks, bruises, and strains. Involves working in up to 120-foot bucket trucks, on ladders, on and around rotating machinery, and energized electrical equipment. Safety equipment includes safety shoes, glasses and respirator.
In accordance with AFl 36-507, the position is emergency-essential (E-E). In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform the E-E duties until relieved by proper authority. The incumbent or designated alternate may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of an E-E position.
