The primary purpose of this position is to perform somewhat difficult and responsible security clerical work and process various security related documentation in office, requiring training and experience gained from previous work experience and issuance of pass documentation.
Duties
Processes applications and issues identification cards, controlled and restricted area badges, vehicle registration, contractor badges, and temporary passes, both permanent and temporary, to eligible personnel,.
Monitors and maintains the Civilian and Contractor Background Investigation Program.
Maintains controlled forms.
Performs routine, miscellaneous clerical work.

Qualifications
This is a Term position NTE 2 Years; the individual selected for this position may be non-competitively extended without further competition. Current Federal civilian employees may apply for this position using "Reinstatement" eligibility and if selected, a break in service of at least 4 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 0086.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience. Examples of general experience include progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates your ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. EDUCATION: Must have successfully completed two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of security processes and procedures and general clerical office functions.
Knowledge of investigation processes and the procedures, forms, and information required to verify against authorization documents, issue badges, passes, vehicle permits, or other forms of authorization.
Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with specific security function to recognize, locate, and insert data/information; support office and security operations; and produce a variety of documents and reports.
Ability to learn filing systems and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, using high degree of tact and diplomacy.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
