About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR - Skills Development Center.
This position is guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can be scheduled to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Duties
Assists assigned personnel in all areas of the Skills Development Program. Operates a variety of equipment in assigned area, to include computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, air brushes, mat cutters, choppers, hand power tools, scroll saw, and band saw. Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change and issues receipts. At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor. Assists customers in placing special orders. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned. Provides customer service, answers telephone and assists shop users with craft skill development and work procedures. With guidance from the supervisor, provides demonstrations and guidance on crafts, as programming needs dictate. Maintains clean, neat, and safe work area. May work an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires continuous standing, walking and stooping. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns and bruises. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience with different craft mediums. Familiarity with wood crafts is desirable. Must have experience to show basic math and measurement skills. Must have the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once. Must be able to read, write, and spell Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
