Duties
You will conduct clinical counseling for individuals, couples, and families as a prevention service.
You will administer case management services related to allegations of child abuse/neglect and domestic abuse including situations with high risk for grievous bodily harm or lethal violence within the family.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interviewing and responding to the needs of Family Advocacy Program (FAP) involved individuals; 2) Applying professional training to intercede in violent or other high-risk situations to limit or reduce likelihood of harm and protect victims; 3) Presenting sensitive, potentially controversial, information to groups of people in a clear, concise manner.; and 4) Applying principles and practices, research methods, group dynamics, motivational psychology, developmental psychology, and family systems therapy to supply treatment methods for abusers and clinical and non-clinical support services for victims.
This position is a TIER THREE clinical care provider. Applicants must meet all of the following qualifications as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A:
State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner.
When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination.
Possess at least a masters degree in one of following clinical fields:
Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree, OR
Social Work from a school accredited by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR
Psychology from a doctoral program approved by APA or an equivalent degree.
Have engaged in 2 years, that includes at least 2,000 hours, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience. Two years post licensure, that includes at least 2,000 hours post licensure or 4,000 hours post graduate degree, full-time clinical experience in a clinical setting.
Per DoD FAP standards, successful candidates have two years of professional experience working in the field of child abuse or domestic abuse.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Psychology Series, 0180: You must possess a degree majoring (or equivalent) in psychology for all specializations.
Social Work Series, 0185: You must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
