About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)), There is one vacancy open in either Falls Church, VA OR Fort Sam Houston, TX. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.


Serves as lead technical advisor and resource management analyst and functional expert in the DHA MEPRS Program Office (DHA MEPRS PO). Providing studies, analyses, reports, recommendations, and staff assistance for the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS). Evaluates and analyzes current MEPRS operations activities and procedures and their effectiveness in meeting established goals and objectives. Develops, implements and redesigns systems. Disseminates DHA MEPRS policies and directives throughout the command.


  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • A one year trial/probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOral CommunicationStrategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
