Duties

Plan, coordinate, and administer aspects of Joint Trauma System (JTS) Research activities through subordinate managers and staff. Provide guidance, support, and input to senior leaders through discussion of overall and specific problems. Responsible for researching and identifying best practices, establishing guidelines for the executing and transitioning research in the MHS. Establishes, formulates, and implements policies on clinical research development, execution, management and translation. Exercise significant responsibilities in collaborations with researchers and clinicians from other DOD/Military Health System (MHS)/government and non-government organizations. Develop and enhance external relationships and opportunities to collaborate and disseminate to research partners and clinicians who provide care Service members, Veterans, and families. Plan, prioritize, assign, modifies, monitor, and accept or reject work products and/or deliverables generated by assigned contract team members.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• The employee must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Approximately 15% travel may be required. Travel may involve local, and or overnight.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government which includes: providing input to improve program processes; using analysis techniques to measure the effectiveness of the organization's procedures; and assisting with the development of corrective actions plans, policies, and/or procedures for the command.
