This position serves as a Warehouse Worker Leader located within the Receiving/Distribution area of the Logistics Service in the Veterans Affairs Health Care System performing work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general and/or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include:
Leads a crew to accomplish assigned projects and daily operational functions;
Ensures awareness of trade techniques and practices;
Demonstrates proper work methods and works along with others;
Provides staff with daily tasks and follows up to confirm completion;
Checks work while in progress and when finished;
Discusses with supervisor the training requirements, problems and other issues;
Ensures warehouse has needed supplies, equipment and tools for daily operation;
Receives incoming shipments and checks items against the electronic purchase orders;
Records, annotates and forwards discrepancies such as shortages and damages;
Maintains the flow of the warehouse by moving, delivering, shelving, storing and inventorying materials and equipment;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C (www.opm.gov/qualifications/x-118c).
