Duties

Serves as a Management Assistant in the Office of the Site Director, DLA Installation Operations Richmond, (SF-R), DLA Installation Management (DM). Ensures the effective and efficient administrative and functional cross process analytical support is provided to the Site Director, Deputy Site Director, and Division Chiefs. Coordinates DLA Installation Operations meeting calendars and secures attendance of a multitude of personnel to include both internal and external participants. Independently conducts limited and well-defined studies of internal procedures and controls, local standard operating procedures, or generating data within single organizational units and makes recommendations for improvement. Outlines new and/or revised administrative and functional processes. Researches, gathers, and performs routine comparative analysis of specific management data from prescribed sources. Prepares statistical summaries and reports for the Office of the Site Director.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Management Assistant your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Reviewing higher level administrative regulatory guidance and new or proposed internal policy and regulations. Participating in conducting segments of larger projects or studies under the direction of higher-graded employees. Assisting with fact gathering, development, tracking tasks and actions, reporting on performance measures, and progress of ongoing projects such as workload statistics within an organizational unit. Responsible for the administrative processes within a Director's staff action group. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
