About the Position: This position is located in Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities. Serves as Supply Technician providing technical support in all logistical functions to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, its outlying and satellite clinics, and DENTAC.
Duties
Perform purchase requests as the primary logistics point of contact (POC) for one or more assigned functions within the Department.
Monitor all orders placed in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system.
Perform government purchases using a Government Purchase Card.
Analyze a variety of problems through research to determine the best way to purchase supplies.
Coordinate with vendors when returning products.
Report and resolve any credit card purchasing discrepancies.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
- This position requires irregular tours of duty.
- A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an on call basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- This position requires Travel (TDY) up to 5%.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical examination.
- This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and/or Education substitution requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing requirements for the purchase of medical equipment; verifying that inventory is sufficient to meet demands with available funds; operating an electronic supply system to order and monitor the status of medical supplies; and performing transactions in an automated supply database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as inventory management and supply chain management. (Note: Must provide a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
