About the Position: Work in an office setting from 7:30-4:30 with other staff members at the Dental Health Activity HQ building. Will mostly be interacting with supply technicians from five clinics. Coordinates purchase requests as the primary logistics POC for the Dental Health Activity.

Duties

Perform purchase requests as the primary logistics point of contact (POC) for one or more assigned functions within the Department. Verify the requirements for placed orders for reagents, supplies, equipment, and maintenance against established contracts. Monitor all orders placed in the DMLSS system. Perform government purchases using a Government Purchase Card. Analyze a variety of problems through research to determine the best way to purchase supplies.

Requirements

  • This position is designated ?Mission Essential?. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must possess the ability to acquire and maintain a valid state driver?s license.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
  • This position may have a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and could be subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties; occasionally lift heavier items with assistance.
  • Irregular tour of duties may be required.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
