About the Position: This position is for the Social Work Services located at Evans Army Community Hospital located at Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Perform bio-psychosocial assessments on child and adolescent behavioral health patients to determine a diagnosis. Perform routine case management functions including telephonic monitoring of symptom severity and/or adherence to behavioral health care treatment plans. Provide targeted assessment and evaluation, including diagnostic impressions and/or functional status focused on the presenting problem. Formulate behavioral health interventions and short-term solution focused treatment in a Behavioral Health Care setting. Provide consultation services for a subset of patients who require ongoing monitoring and follow-up.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• A tuberculosis test is required.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Clinical):Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations of behavioral health patients, 2) providing individual or group counseling, 3) developing behavioral health treatment recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
