About the Position: The position is with the San Diego Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), CA. The mission of the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM), and the MEPS, is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into the armed services, based on DoD-approved peacetime and mobilization standards.
Duties
Serves as a first-line supervisor.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and schedules work.
Conducts performance and disciplinary counseling with subordinates.
Prepares job descriptions, award recommendations, records of accomplishments or efficiency, time and attendance reports and other personnel actions and related correspondence pertaining to subordinates.
Implements and updates the annual training program.
Provides managerial and supervisory oversight of the overall testing administration at the MEPS leading to the qualification of applicants for military service.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with the oversight of the overall testing administration leading to the qualification of applicants for military service as well as resolving test scoring automation issues by implementing Dept. of Defense (DOD) and Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Administration, Business Administration, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
