You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNCIAN, Ready for Issue Technician, in the PROVOST MARSHALL OFFICE/MARINE CORPS POLICE DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will work around and with firearms, ammunition, and other related police equipment and members of the law enforcement profession.
You will issue, recover, and maintain daily accountability of weapons, ammunition, and equipment stored in the PMO/MCPD arms room.
You will ensure the safety and security of weapons, ammunition, and equipment stored in the arms room and annually qualify and maintain proficiency with your assigned team.
You will comply with installation standard operating procedures (SOP) and the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Manual (LEM) regarding arms room safety, security, and accountability.
You will assist the armorer as required and will perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed in the installation SOP and the Marine Corps LEM.
You will recover and maintain control of training ammunition.

- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must have reached your 18th birthday prior to appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AAE) screening.
- You will be required to obtain pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) investigation.
- You will be required to complete a State Criminal History Repository Check.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Issuing, maintaining, and accounting for weapons, ammunition, and equipment; 2) Conducting inventory checks of weapons and equipment and documenting discrepancies; and 3) Utilizing supply databases to retrieve and enter information.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of four years of education above high school level;
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
