This position is in the Crisis Management Training (CMT) Division in the Leadership and Management School (LMS) at FSI. LMS is responsible for developing leadership skills at all levels of the workforce of the Department of State and, as appropriate, broader foreign affairs community. CMT’s primary responsibility is to design, develop, and deliver domestic and overseas training programs to develop the crisis leadership skills of our workforce at home and abroad.
Duties
Research, design, develop, and coordinate crisis leadership and risk management training, exercises, and digital resources for both U.S. missions overseas and domestic State Department audiences.
Serve as training coordinator for assigned domestic course modules and/or geographic bureaus.
Represent FSI and provide expert advice and assistance at Department, interagency, and private sector meetings and seminars on crisis and risk management issues.
Provide advice and guidance to the LMS Dean, Associate Dean, CMT Director, and Branch Chiefs on program performance management and personnel issues.
Participate in the design and development of new courses, modules, and resources in the content areas of training.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience coordinating or conducting crisis and risk management training and exercises for organizations.
Experience analyzing or implementing adult education methodologies, participatory training and facilitation techniques for crisis and risk management programs.
Experience evaluating course material to determine modifications on educational courses for crisis management.
Experience advising on crisis management activities, programs and mechanisms for organizational training.
Note: Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); supervising or administering a training program; development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; or work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
