This position is located in the Division of Complex Institution Supervision and Resolution, responsible for overseeing the Division's system of internal controls and conducting internal reviews of program areas to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of practices.
Duties
Develops, implements and oversees the Division’s system of internal controls, including all aspects of its compliance with the Chief Financial Officers Act (CFOA), other relevant statutes, and corporate policies and procedures.
Conducts internal reviews of program areas to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency. Serves as the Division’s liaison with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), and the Office of Enterprise Risk Management (OERM).
Assists in the review of OIG and GAO audit report finding and makes recommendations on appropriate action and tracks corrective actions.
Coordinates with FDIC Office and Division counterparts to report progress on goals and objectives related to the corporate strategic plans; develops content for the Annual Report.
Establishes applicable business planning processes and reporting requirements that link goals and objectives to the Division’s mission and provides measurement of strategic goals, performance objectives, and status reports on key activities and measures.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting internal review of a division or office's program areas related to risk management supervision, resolution readiness, or deposit insurance to elevate effectiveness of operations.
