This position is located at River Cove Community Center in support of the Bingo Operation which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department aboard Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida.


Performs assigned duties and provides necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of bingo programs. May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties as needed. Is accountable for the accuracy of daily sales transactions and completes a Daily Activity Report (DAR) at the end of every shift. Provides customer service by greeting patrons in person and by answering the telephone; takes messages and handles customer requests or referrals to the appropriate staff member. Performs administrative duties, all of which are accomplished through a variety of means, including computer software programs which track resource inventories. Provides assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary. Other duties as assigned.


  • Must be a current Naval Air Station Jacksonville Morale, Welfare and Recreation employee at time of applying to be considered.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.


In order to qualify for this position, the applicant must be a current employee of MWR located on Naval Air Station Jacksonville - status must be documented on resume. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must be a mature individual who can exercise control over a large group of people. Must be able to maintain composure in a fast paced sometimes-stressful environment. Must be able to accurately make change and handle large amounts of Bingo cards and money. Must have analytical ability to reconcile cards sold. Candidates must be available to work; days, nights, weekends and holidays as the bingo program operates in non-traditional business hours. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
