This position is located in the Office of the Commissioner for Trademarks. The incumbent will participate in the day-to-day administrative management of the division's programs by performing a variety of administrative and logistical support functions of a confidential, sensitive nature encompassing all areas of Trademark programs, goals, and objectives, and in the overall office management for the supervisor and/or staff in connection with the accomplishment of assigned functions.

This position is located in the Office of the Commissioner for Trademarks, Trademark Organizations (Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Administration).

Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 level, you must possess at least one (1) year of Specialized experience equivalent at the GS-07 grade. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Experience utilizing qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness. (2) Experience planning, coordinating and prioritizing work to ensure timely completion of work assignments. (3) Experience utilizing oral and written to effectively work internal and external stakeholders.
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess at least one (1) year of Specialized experience equivalent at the GS-09 grade. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Experience training and developing new clerical support staff in office procedures and policies. (2) Experience utilizing oral and written communication skills to effectively work internal and external stakeholders. (3) Experience setting goals and deadlines, supervising, training, and assigning work to subordinate staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may be substituted at the GS-09 under the following criteria: GS-09:
- Master's or equivalent graduate degree; Or
- 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; Or
- LL.B, LL.M., or J.D., if related.
Education may be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level as follows: GS-11:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; Or
- 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; Or
- LL.M., if related; Or
- Equivalent combination of qualifying graduate education and experience.
