This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Do Data Science for complex analytical, mathematical, and statistical research and provide options for data driven solutions. Army G-8 may offer relocation Incentives, Student Loan Repayment, and Credit for Leave Accrual for Highly qualified candidate, per agency policy.

Duties

Plan, coordinates, and executes studies of marked difficulty and responsibility that address advanced data modeling techniques and procedures, data trend analysis and the development of mathematical data algorithms. Lead the development and documentation of tools for assigned data programs and projects. Direct and coordinates data analytics, analysis, advanced modeling, development of mathematical algorithms, and computer program design activities with Department of Defense organizations. Apply modeling techniques and procedures in support of the Army's migration to data driven initiatives that increase the velocity of relevant data to the point of need. Plan and conduct, as project lead or member of a team, relevant research, and analytical studies of Army problems to support critical operational problems, cybersecurity posture and threats, and/or decisions. Provide expert consultation to heads of major organizations, high-ranking government official, and key personnel within and outside the federal government.

• This position requires the incumbent to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 upon entering the position and on an annual basis.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. (Transcripts required at the time of application.) OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the formulation of analytical/mathematical procedures to solve business and operational data problems; assisting with planning and conducting analytical studies of business and operational problems; assisting with creating and presenting analytical reports for audiences of all levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes formulating analytical/mathematical procedures to solve business and operational data problems; planning and conducting analytical studies of business and operational problems; creating and presenting analytical reports for audiences of all levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Education
