You will serve as the Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for the Department of the Navy (DON). You will serve as the senior DON official responsible for accomplishing data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) goals in support of the DON Information Superiority Vision (ISV).

Duties

You will serve as the senior official for advancing the DON’s objectives to increase the use of data, analyses, and AI in decision making at all levels. You will lead governance for enterprise-wide data, analytics, and AI in concert with the Navy and Marine Corps. You will establish policies, processes, enterprise standards, organization and enforcement of data, analytics, and AI concepts. You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of data, analytics, and AI management and services. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely performance of high-quality work products for the CIO, managing a team of senior researchers, scientists, SMEs and project leads with a broad portfolio of data, analytics, and AI efforts. You will be responsible for innovating and driving capabilities for enterprise data and analytic services in support of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Secretariat.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Demonstrated experience overseeing secure enterprise data analytics, including the operational use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for maximum business value. 3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in executive-level IT leadership, including smart governance and data science innovation. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
