Duties
You will install and repair domestic and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems such as walk-in and reach-in coolers, refrigerators, ice cream cabinets, deep freezers, evaporative coolers, attic and evaporative fans.
You will replace major portions of various cooling units such as compressors, condensers, expansion valves, float and service valves, thermostats, coils and drive assemblies.
You will replace separate small air conditioning units and small systems.
You will perform general repairs and preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
You will select tools, decide on methods and techniques to use, and install a variety of parts including major portions of assigned systems and equipment, apply and interpret information in blueprints, charts and sketches.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to possess and maintain EPA Universal Certifications prior to appointment.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification in use of respirator within 6 months of appt.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to install and repair domestic/commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units.
